Bush May be Willing on Foreclosure Help |
|
07/02/08
Yesterday in a surprise announcement Bush said he was open to the housing bill that could save millions form foreclosure. This announcement comes after weeks of watering the bill down to ensure that Bush would not veto the measure prematurely. This however has many people concerned about the effectiveness of this bill since many compromises had to be meet at the expense of the already embattled homeowner.
"I think we can get us a bill," Bush said.
This however is an improvement in the White House's stand on foreclosure aid to American homeowners just a few short weeks ago it looked as if there was no way Bush would let any further aid reach homeowners however he was willing to allow bailouts to large Wall St banks that cost ten times as much as a nationwide foreclosure avoidance measure. Such actions reinforce the notion that Republicans are only interested in the concerns of big business and not that of the average American as we can clearly see the breaks they give big business while letting the rest of America suffer. We can only hope that the foreclosure bill that Bush will now back has enough assistance for the average American.
