I'm on special forebearance with countrywide 1 Year, 6 Months ago

Please help me. I've been making regular forebearance payment to countrywide and received a letter in the mail yesterday telling me that they have cancelled my special forebearance as I did not keep my promise to pay. I have been paying regularly and my last money order was sent on 1/23/09 by first class mail to a p.o. box in California. My due date was 1/28/09. The post office could not do a delivery confirmation to a p.o. box and countrywide processed my payment on 2/6/09. The letter states that since my special forebearance is cancelled, foreclosure proceedings on my house will take place. I have no where to go and have no one to turn to. Please do not let this happen. Why is countrywide doing this. How can a first class mail take two weeks to reach California p.o. box from an Arizona address. I don't believe the postal service is so slow. I think that Countrywide wants to put my house on foreclosure so they can get their moneys worth. They are not cooperating. I have received a regular address to send my next money order and this time I'm doing a delivery and signature confirmation. This will tell me when it arrives and who received it. It will prove that the postal service is not slow but that countrywide was slow in processing the payment. Please help me keep my house.
Sincerely,
Eavery

That is very awful of countrywide to do that! They should be ashamed. I would suggest you contact your states banking dept and file a complaint - legal wise the date the letter is post marked is usually binding. Check with a lawyer. Also check our list here http://freeforeclosurehelp.us/Getting-Started.html and give Hope Now a call asap.

They are famous for doing exactly this...! I'm amazed at what they have gotten away with. Suggestions- When you send your payments, make them have to sign for them. Also, a good idea is to have a bank account JUST for mortgage payments....nothing else, so that your payments get sent in sequence too. Try sending the money anyhow, even though you have received that letter, and see what they do with your payment. If they send it back, then you have at least made a paper trail, then go to a lawyer, or write to your States Attorney, explaining what has happened. Keep a notebook of all of your paperwork, and stay off of the phone....phone calls to your lender arent going to get you anywhere. Good luck to you!
